- Up to 12 weeks: Giving up your job yourself, for example via a termination agreement without good cause, risks up to 12 weeks without unemployment benefit.
- The wording matters: Whether a suspension period threatens often comes down to details in the termination agreement: reason, notice periods and wording.
- Review first, then sign: A signed termination agreement is nearly impossible to undo. Have it reviewed first, that protects your severance and your unemployment benefit.
